Also replace ‘fighter planes’ with ‘swords’.
So I just made a science fiction stories blog, and I am looking for submissions, would you be so kind as to add a link to your site?

Dear cylons,
The new Tumblr code has royally messed everything up. Here’s a list of it all so far:
- Any asks containing more that three periods will not be received. They will send, but the person will never get them. I tested this several times.
- Asks can no longer contain links.
- The extra pages have disappeared (both the writing and science fiction blogs). This has happened on a few other sites.
- Every time I change the appearance of the page in any way, the settings get reset, thus deleting the ask box and the submit page.
I apologize for any inconveniece. It would appear that the code is getting worse each day. Hopefully it will be fixed. If you would like, send a message to tumblr support.

Submissions are not having any issue when the page is up and I seem to get them just fine. I’ll test it again but if you have any cylons, feel free to send them in. If you have, and I haven’t posted it yet, then I didn’t get it.
[EDIT: Submissions work just fine]
Science Fiction recommendation of the week.
Once a week I want to do a write-up of a major science fiction work, be it influential, underground, old, new, book, film, video game, etc. If you would like to make a suggestion for a future feature, feel free to do so in a private message. If I have not heard of it, I will let you know so you can write it up yourself and have me post it. You may also write it up yourself, regardless.
This week is the Postman (book) by David Brin.

Don’t let the terrible movie they made about it fool you. These two are so different, I’d say it’s only the title they really have in common.
The Postman is a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel about a drifter that finds a postman uniform and uses it for warmth. Eventually he finds a bunch of letters in an abandoned truck and uses them to barter for shelter in the next town. It is here that rumors spread of a restoration of the US and that he is a real postman. He latches onto their hope and continues to deliver mail.
Without giving away too much, there’s involvement of super computers, super humans, rebellion, tyrannical rule and the talk of how the US fell (was it to war or plague?). It’s a decent length read and well deserving of it’s awards and popularity.
The author has a Master of Science in Apllied Physics and a Doctor of Psychology in Space Science. He also wrote the Uplift Series among many other science fiction novels.

I think it’s great that you write science fiction! I wish I could read it (if you can, dear sci-fi writers, give their stuff a try) and I’m glad there are people of color writing in this genre. We need to hear more diverse voices.
